Designed for use without modification to the inner primary cover, these bolt-in kits feature cylindrical shaped, replaceable round clutch dogs which can withstand 1200 pounds of torque. The inner stressproof steel hub is designed to move the weight of the clutch basket inward over the mainshaft 1 which distributes the weight more evenly on the mainshaft. To ensure a low rotating weight and provide long life, both the front and rear pulleys are made of lightweight aluminum and are hard anodized. Rounding out these kits are a set of Kevlar^® clutch plates that provide 60% more surface area than the OE clutch and a Kevlar^® belt for positive performance. If more clutch plate pressure is needed, the pressure plate is designed to accept up to 6 more clutch springs if required. Each kit includes a sealed primary bearing (except kit 77028). A primary bearing seal is also included for those who don't want to change the OEM non-sealed style bearing. These kits are truly a custom builders delight. Manufactured by Belt Drives Limited (BDL) for unsurpassed quality in the motorcycle industry. All kits include BDL's quiet clutch with Kevlar fiber plates that virtually eliminates the clutch rattle that is normally associated with open belt drives. Kits are available with your choice of clutch spring, coil type or diaphragm type as listed. Our one piece, CNC machined billet aluminum motor plate features a double row sealed bearing for maximum strength on the mainshaft. The starter ring gear pocket is recessed into the plate and the starter housing is designed to cover most of the open area of the gear. To further enhance the appearance, a polished aluminum cover is included that fits behind the front pulley and camouflages the stator. A side guard is held in place with hex stand-offs and button head allens. We also include a special starter gear. The 4 speed kit is designed for use with ratchet top transmission, 1991/Later starter motor and a 1979/Later 4 speed clutch release arm 44208. Simple modifications will have to be made to the clutch release arm and a small cut out of the oil tank bracket will be needed for starter motor clearance on X models. Includes instructions. Softail kits include a two piece front pulley consisting of a 3 wide pulley and a splined steel insert. By replacing the included insert with a longer one, found in the drive train section, along with the corresponding alternator mount and offset transmission mounting plate, you can install these belt drive kits on frames designed for wide tire applications. To ensure a low rotating weight and provide long life, both the front and rear pulleys are made of lightweight aluminum and are hard anodized. Rounding out these kits are a set of Kevlar^® clutch plates that provide 60% more surface area than the OE clutch and a Kevlar^® belt for positive performance. If more clutch plate pressure is needed, the pressure plate is designed to accept up to 6 more clutch springs if required. Each kit includes a sealed primary bearing (except kit 77028). A primary bearing seal is also included for those who don't want to change the OEM non-sealed style bearing. Change over today for a smoother, quieter ride.
